Dear Patrick:
I read your presentation at the Conference of Tamil Peoples Rights on Different Forms of Genocide in Sri Lanka. To be honest, I was more curious to see what your spin this time would be, knowing that you always have your daggers drawn when the subject is Sri Lanka, to cut that island to pieces and bury them in your back yard. It was amazing the spins and distortions that you came up with this time. You are certainly one helava Pa-TRICK master. Here’s what I found out.
Patrick Brown: “We are proud that we are a peaceful nation.”
Asoka W: Explain to us about the October Crisis which evoked the War Measures Act on 16 October 1970 and brought the military with guns drawn to guard every street corner in Ottawa and Montreal. Why, what was the problem? Explain to us the Fury of Oka of the Mohawk Warriors which turned into a full-blown national crisis in September 1990. Why, what was the problem? Ha! Peaceful you say. What rubbish! Good spin Pa-Trick and I suppose all the Tamils in the audience got drunk-angry having tasted your brand of Sri Lanka hate-Mulligatawny soup.
Patrick Brown: “Sri Lanka is a very important country for Canada.”
Asoka W: Oh, sure…sure. That is the very reason why Canada is trying to screw Sri Lanka at every international forum and wants to destabilize that island nation. Come off it Pa-Trick! That statement was a bit tricky wasn’t it?
When Prime Minister Stephen Harper tried to act Pied Piper to scuttle the November Commonwealth Summit away from Colombo and he was embarrassed as only UK and USA stood behind him out of the 52 Commonwealth nations. When our Foreign Minister John Baird went to the UN Security Council and did his Song and Dance lambasting Sri Lanka on alleged human rights violations on their way to eliminate the most ruthless terrorist group in the world, the Tamil Tigers, to give back the Right-to-Life to 22 million of her peoples. When our Minister of Citizenship and Immigration Jason Kenney goes to Colombo on 7 January and says to the Sri Lankan officials, “I am the son of the preacher man come to preach to you about human rights as we are ‘Holier than Thou’, when our First Nations peoples were demonstrating and their Chief was on a hunger strike that very same day protesting against the Canadian Government for violating their human rights just a stone throw away from his parliamentary office, it was Canadian hypocrisy of the first order. He was almost humiliated by the Sri Lankan Government officials and was spared only because of international diplomatic niceties or else they would have told Jason Kenney, “Why don’t you buggeroff and solve your problems at home before you preach to us about human rights”, If this is indeed the case, Sri Lanka does not need any more enemies as long as they have Canada who calls herself a “friend of Sri Lanka”. So you go to the Tamil conference and portray yourself as a “geo-political smart Canadian parliamentarian” with such pathetic pronouncements.
Patrick Brown: “Tamils began immigrating to Canada in the late 1940s. Only a few hundred came to Canada…”
Asoka W: Good try Pa-Trick with another spin of yours. But here are the facts. In 1946 the Canadian federal government created an act called the Canada Citizenship Act, which came into effect on January 1, 1947. After this act was created, however, Canada still gave preferential treatment to white, European and American residents who wanted to immigrate to Canada. This was evident in the Immigration Act of 1952, when other groups of the Canadian government’s choosing were allowed to enter the country as immigrants. This act allowed for the passage of orders-in-council that placed quotas on those from India (150 a year), Pakistan (100 a year) and Ceylon (50 a year). So who told you that Tamils immigrated to Canada in the 1940s? Good spin!
The first immigrant from Ceylon (Sri Lanka) was a Burger who landed in Montreal in 1954. Just don’t push the Tamil values as it certainly wouldn’t cut mustard with me when they happen to be lies. That was a Pa-Tricky effort to boost the importance of Tamils in Canada, wasn’t it Pa-Trick? That was a tricky try!
Patrick Brown: “….with some 300,000 Canadians of Sri Lankan origin, who have made a huge contribution to Canada’s prosperity and the success of our model of unity and diversity.”
Asoka W: Correct. If you were talking of the Tamil-Canadians, take away the members of the new Tamil Thugs Cult like the Tamil thugs, extortionists, passport forgers, credit card scam artists, the car insurance million dollar scammers, the drug traffickers, the million dollar human smugglers, the rest of the Tamils are honest workers, some holding two jobs, like the Sinhalese immigrants and paying their taxes thus contributing handsomely to Canada’s prosperity. I take my hat off to these hard working Tamils as well as new hard working Sinhalese immigrants. I wish them well and prosperity.
Patrick Brown: “A Toronto Star’s editorial late last fall expressed the frustration of many in Canada and the international community over the Sri Lankan situation criticized the UN in their editorial “The UN failed Sri Lanka’s Tamils, and innocent paid the price.”
Asoka W: Pa-Trick did you make an effort to find out whether that editorial was written by a Tamil or a White-Tamil clone editorial writer? What is hog-wash about that editorial is that it did not acknowledge that there were two factions in that war, the Sinhalese and the Tamils and that the Muslims were caught in between. There were over 100,000-victims in that war. Most of the victims were innocent Sinhalese and Muslims who lived in the boarder villages of the Tamil Tiger controlled areas and the claymore-mine blown to smithereens victims in the south. That is the rub.
Without acknowledging that fact Pa-Trick, that editorial was not worth the piece of paper it was written on. In other words it’s all Tamil biased piffle crap.
Get a Sinhalese to write a companion editorial to “UN failed Sri Lanka’s Tamils and innocent paid the price” which appeared in the Toronto Star that you gloat about, titled –“The UN failed Sri Lanka’s Sinhalese and Muslims, and the innocent paid the price.” And here is what the general public very likely will read –
“It has been unfortunate that when the tear drop island Sri Lanka, off the face of mighty India was bullied by this giant’s Prime Minister Indira Gandhi and her Prime Minister son Rajiv Gandhi in the 1980s, the UN was inept, sterile and bankrupt to intervene and check the blatant violation of Sri Lanka’s sovereignty that included her air space. It was the innocent Sinhalese and Muslims that paid the price.
India has constantly refused to accept Sri Lanka as a sovereign nation, and with her hegemonic Indira-Monroe Doctrine in place she has made every effort to destabilize this sovereign island nation for decades. The Indian government played a devious game with Colombo in June 1987, when they forced themselves to send to the Jaffna Tamils unsolicited “humanitarian” aid. In an incredible display of bully-boy tactics, New Delhi played power politics with the small and navy-weak tear drop neighbour for India’s own internal reasons.
Indira Gandhi managed to shunt thousands of bare-footed Tamil guerillas to scores of military camps in southern India and at the foothills of the Himalayas to provide them with military training, and after seeing them graduate as trained terrorists sent them back to Sri Lanka’s north and east in fatigues and jackboots with festoon of live bullets strung around their necks and carrying AK47s and hand grenades in their pockets to kill the unarmed innocent Sinhalese and Muslims and to destabilize that island nation. When all this was going on, the UN was inept, sterile and bankrupt to check this blatant assault on Sri Lanka and her innocent Sinhalese and Muslim civilians by the Made in India Tamil Tiger terrorists.
Further more, the UN was inept, sterile and bankrupt to intervene and stop countries like India, Norway and Canada for aiding and abetting this unnecessary separatist Tamil Eelam war, and haul them in front of an International War Crimes court judge for prolonging this war which violated the paramount human right, the right-to-life of 22 million of innocent Sri Lankan civilians for 27 years. Canada’s guilt was that it allowed the Tamil Diaspora stuff two million dollars each month for 13 years into the Tamil Tiger War Chest to purchase a sophisticated armoury to kill innocent civilians and they went about doing it with impunity.
And the innocent Sinhalese and Muslims paid the price being killed by the Tamil Tiger terrorists, like in Dollar and Kent Farm in Welioya (62 killed including women and children); The Sacred City of Anuradhapura (120 killed, 85 maimed for life); Kithuluthuwa Bus attack (122 killed including women and children and 44 maimed for life); Aranthalawa massacre of 33 novice Buddhist monks; Kathankudy Mosque massacre (103 killed and 70 injured), 700 surrendered policemen shot to death, and the list goes on…..……………etc.”
Patrick Brown: “….I believe we have reached a point where the UN’s Responsibility to Protect (R2P) initiatives 3rd pillar applies. Moving forward, the International community has the responsibility to intervene, employ more proactive measures. The Sri Lankan government must hear the message loud and clear; the world will not tolerate the genocide of your own people.” That was a heavy bit of Pa-Trickery, Patrick. Now you are being a Goddamn bully, aren’t you?
Asoka W.: What the world haven’t heard loud and clearly is what President sings in the morning during his shower time – he sings Frank Sinatra’s “I do it my way”.
And Pa-Trick, let me assure you that President Mahinda Rajapaksa has heard loud and clearly the Western ‘God’ Nation’s message of their R2P. When the western world invaded Iraq on a lie and killed 1.2 million innocent people. R2P my foot! When the world went into Libya firing 7,600 missiles violating International humanitarian laws, and screwed that country. R2P my foot! How the consortium of western nations has gone into Afghanistan and after 10 years still hasn’t snared the Taliban terrorists and their drone attacks are killing innocent civilians in Pakistan. R2P my foot!
But Pa-Trick, here’s what is hilarious about your threat of R2P on Sri Lanka. When I was in the kindergarten in colonial Ceylon, we were taught to communicate with our class teacher in mnemonics. One such mnemonic was approaching the teacher, putting our right hand up and not the left as the left hand had a purpose. Our left palms were placed over the crotch and say “Please, R2P Miss!” She looks at you and says, “Alright then, come back soon”. Do you know what that R2P stood for? It was “Request-to-Pee”. It is amazing how you guys like Lloyd Axworthy came up with that R2P stunt. It brings out a snarky giggle out of me every time I read it or hear of it.
Patrick Brown: “:…the world will not tolerate the genocide of your own people.”
Asoka W: Pa-Trick, I don’t think Canada nor you have any moral right to talk of Tamil genocide”, when Canada lost its innocence of honesty, lack of gumption, and the lack of truism to acknowledge up to today, this very moment, that the Sri Lankan soldiers by 19 May 2009 liberated 295,873 Tamils from the clutches of the Tamil Tigers who held them as a human shield for 30 months and herded them like unwashed cattle from the west coast to the east coast. The reason, I am certain is that it would have exposed that Patrick Brown and Canada as Ba! Humbugs talking of Tamil genocide in Sri Lanka when there was no such thing.
Pa-Trick, I don’t think Canada nor you have any moral right to talk of “Tamil genocide”, when Canada lost its innocence of honesty, lacked gumption, and truism not to acknowledge that the Sri Lankan Government prepared a million meals to feed these 295,873 liberated Tamils three hearty breakfasts, lunches and dinners each day and not let then starve to death. This was magical and a text book classic example of true acts of loving kindness and human rights. You cannot equate that act of compassion to ‘genocide’ of Tamils. No way!
Pa-Trick I know why you guys are shying away from acknowledging all that. It is because it would cull your charge of “Tamil genocide” immediately and prove that you guys are a bunch of hypocritical no good liars, isn’t it?
My case on that subject is closed and I find you morally disgraceful not admitting the liberation of the 295,873 Tamils from the clutches of the Tamil Tigers by the Sinhalese soldiers, sacrificing 7000 of their own men in wanting to save these Tamils from harm. What is your response to that my dear Pa-Trick? You are being Tricky, aren’t you? Let me hear your defending voice.
Patrick Brown: “I wish you all great success in raising global awareness and support for persecuted Tamils in Sri Lanka.”
Asoka W: Pa-Trick, thank you for providing me a window of opportunity to prove to you and the rest of the world, that these Tamils were the most privileged minority (12.6% in 1983; 3.9 % in 2012) in any continent around the world, and the Sinhalese in Sri Lanka were the wronged majority (74%).
I want you to read what I will tell you intently, and make notes along the way as the separatist Tamils will not admit to all these Tamil Facts, nor will they have the courage to challenge me other than phoning me and saying that they will blow my face off this earth, or threaten to bomb a 15 story Canadian government building that I used to work in down-town Ottawa, which created a security issue.
*They were persecuted the Tamils say: I ask, “How come?” Whenin July 1983, when the ethnic riots happened and the majority of Tamils flew out of the Cuckoos nest no sooner they found that western countries flood gates were open for Tamil refugees who said that they were persecuted and discriminated, their Tamils held the posts of the Attorney General (Siva Pasupathy), Inspector General of Police (Rudra Rajasingham) and the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court (Justice S. Sharvananda). So the Tamils came to Canada by passing their Motherland Tamil Nadu which was just 24 salt-water miles away from their northern coast in plane loads and rusty boat loads. Persecuted, my foot!

When the July 1983 ethnic riots happened, six of the Deputy Inspector General’s of Police (DIGs) were Tamils. Persecuted my foot!

Then in the state sector alone Tamils constituted 34.9% of the engineers, 35.1% of the doctors, 32.2% of medical technicians; 33.1% of accountants and 28.9% surveyors. And the percentages were not much different in the Corporate Sector either. Persecuted, my foot!

When the Tamil population was 12.6% in July 1983 and when the ethnic riots happened, Tamils formed 23% of the staff of Universities and Institutes of Higher Education. In addition the Tamils also had Universities for themselves in the North and East Provinces while having access to other universities in the south. Persecuted my foot!
*They were persecuted the Tamils said: and I ask, “How come?”when the University admissions in1978, Tamils constituted 42% of the students in the Medical Faculty; 62% for Dental Surgery; 50% for Veterinary science, 30% for Agriculture; 33% for Bio-Science; 34.9% for Engineering and 36.8 for Architecture. So the Tamils say that they were persecuted. That’s a lot of cods wallop, Pa-Trick. Persecuted, my foot!
*They were persecuted the Tamils said: and I ask, “How come?” And here is my final “Tamil Fact” which will prove that you are up to much mischief to spit at Sri Lanka unfairly. But let me tell you one thing Pa-Trick, there is absolutely no one who is going to hurt my Motherland Sri Lanka unfairly. I couldn’t care who the heck the person is, I will stand tall for Sri Lanka to defend her good name as I have always done since August 4, 1983. And that is my mission and that is the bottom line.
Get this “Tamil Fact” and try and equate it into “Tamil Genocide”. That will be the ultimate litmus test on your ‘Honesty”.
Two years prior to the Tamils flying out of the cuckoo’s nest in search of greener pastures, the schools in the Jaffna Educational District were well supported and qualitatively superior in comparison with the situation elsewhere in the island.
Even in 1981 the Jaffna Educational District had 555 Government Schools for a Tamil student population of 207,524, whereas the capital Colombo had only 251 such schools for 231,690 multi-ethnic students.
In 1981, the Sri Lankan Tamils enjoyed a literacy rate of 88.3% compared to 86.5% for the majority Sinhalese.
The privileged position of the Jaffna Educational District schools was evident from school facilities and amenities such as approved science laboratories. They were available in 41% of Jaffna schools compared to the all island average of 19.6%.
Patrick, go figure all this out before you start belly-aching for your Tamil constituents. With all these Tamil Facts in hand, which I doubt any Tamil could challenge me on these Facts, it is time you stop your vindictive campaign to vilify my Motherland Sri Lanka. I don’t think you have the moral right to tell the Tamils, “I wish you all great success in raising global awareness and support for persecuted Tamils in Sri Lanka.” Who said that these Tamils were persecuted? Come off it Pa-Trick. You know better than that!
Patrick, do you know what the Tamils in Sri Lanka will tell you, “Why don’t you leave us alone and go and jump in the Ottawa River behind the parliament building. That icy cold water might help you to bring back the honesty which you have lost in your faculties when dealing with Sri Lanka. We are alright Jack!”
And one more request Patrick. If you need a speaker or a debater to speak on the flip side of your crusade against Sri Lanka with you on the same platform, make a note that I will be available to join you anywhere, anytime. I will make my way to the venue nor will I want a speaking fee.
